Trying to Whack It

Yesterday I headed out to the golf course her in Utah.  There was no snow on the ground and I teed off at 10:30 am and walked the 18 holes.  The greens were all temporary winter greens.  I noticed something though.  As I get closer to 70 years old I am not hitting the ball as far as I want to hit it.  I bet it is a 30 or 40 yard difference with my driver.  I have been working out, lifting weights, trying to get stronger but maybe what has been lost will be lost for good.

I have been reading some Agatha Christie books lately.  Having retired from the practice of dentistry and now having a few hours a day where I can't do much, I read a book a day or so.  Today is an interesting day though.  It is my younger brother's birthday.  So we are the same age, 68 years old, for two weeks and then I jump ahead.

One thing is for sure.  I am in a different culture, a different world than I was in 20 years ago, and especially 50 years ago.  It looks to me like a complete degeneration.
